Knight’s Market. A printed-with-local-ads edition of the satiric website, The Onion, is being distributed, free, at Knight’s Market. Today’s headline: “First-Ever Gay “Dear John” Letters Begin Reaching U.S. Troops Overseas. Hailed as a monumental step towards equality by gay rights activists…”
Also National Enquirer-worthy photo captioned, “Obama Accidentally Seated Next To Taliban Leader at Tense White House State Dinner”.
Ads include Dawn Treader books, West Side Books, People’s Food Coop, Ann Arbor Public Library.
Have not seen The Onion elsewhere.
There are a number of distribution boxes near campus (not surprisingly) – I know I’ve picked up two editions at different locations.
I picked up my copy along Main Street downtown.
There are Onion boxes (“square bulbs”?) around campus, next to what us older folk think of as newspaper boxes. The Onion has a local office in “Tally Hall” near the Michigan Theater.
There is an Onion paperbox outside the Flim Flam, behind the Plymouth/Nixon bus stop.
I saw this headline yesterday…
“Belief in God Boils Down to a Gut Feeling”
and immediately thought it was The Onion. It sure could be, but its actually a real article.

This article shows that Ann Arbor’s market for fake news is more competitive than the market for actual news: [link]
#7 LisaLou: One too many “http” in link, but when I got there it was amusing to find “Water Hill” featured in the Google map—guess that makes it official.
#6 News of A2: Funny is relative, but your targets are all local, so that’s a big plus for you.
Re: [9] “One too many “http” in link …”
That’s fixed, and it was The Chronicle’s glitch, not LisaLou’s, in case anyone was holding that against her.
[9] Cosmo — Woo-hoo on “Water Hill.” Now I want to name my neighborhood. Let the research begin.

Don’t worry Dave, we’re holding it against you.
Hope that makes you feel better.
