West Park

Stopped. Watched. icon

What appears to be a muskrat trims vegetation in the West Park pond and drags it while swimming under the boardwalk to a spot out of sight. [photo] It’s hard to see in these photos, but he’s hanging out in the pond nibbling water plants. [photo]

There’s definitely a muskrat in the pond – it has been mentioned in a previous Stopped. Watched. Definitely interesting to stop and watch it work!

Two muskrats sighted at once in the West Park pond this evening, both munching on water plants. One is much smaller than the other.
