Graffiti can be interpreted as (at least) two different animals. What do you see first? [photo] Bonus points for identifying the location more closely than the nearest intersection.

Mouse and bird – not sure which I saw first! Will have to go look for it to see in person.

A mouse–we see it in various places. There is one on the garage door on 1st St., part of the UM’s Taubman Art & Architecture annex. There are others in the vicinity of West Liberty–cannot remember exactly where, maybe in the alley behind Pizza Pino. Anyhow, although it is graffiti, it doesn’t seems as objectionable, somehow, as that big white signature-like scrawl that adorns the sides of so many buildings.

Remember those Mickey Mouse graffiti sketches on Washington? They had just the ears, I think, and the shadow of the parking meter was necessary to complete the image. Not all graffiti is evil.

Thanks, Dave. I couldn’t remember the details but those Mickey Mouse moments were like a free gift from the universe.

An otter with its head partially submerged. It’s snout is on the left.
