Observed a number of people driving in to West Park to drop off Christmas trees, or more accurately – do an impressive toss to the top of the pile. Perfect weather for that! [photo 1] [photo 2]

    I guess that explains the car I saw with a tree loaded on its roof. Weird – it looked like a pre-Christmas tree, ready to be installed in place of pride.

    I believe the plan is that the city turns the pile of trees into mulch about once a week through January. I could hear them chipping this morning as I walked down Miller, and could smell the pine/fir aroma as I crossed Spring.
