As of 10 a.m., 70 people had voted at the Bach Elementary polling place. Usually it’s located in a classroom or the school cafeteria, but this time the voting stations and poll workers are crammed into the entryway of the cafeteria. It smells like tacos.

I didn’t smell any tacos (I was there a bit earlier than you), but I’ll bet that I had the most stubborn ballot of the day–it refused to be gobbled up by the tabulator although I tried pushing it through multiple times in various ways. The poll workers tried to assist, but nothing worked–the machine kept spitting it back. Finally, that particular ballot was declared spoiled, I was given a new ballot and a new number-#61, and I voted again, very easily and successfully the second time. I have never had such an exciting voting experience before.
I received a carrot stick for being number 100 about 11:30 AM. I needed it after circling the building looking for the polling place:-)
