As they did during the 2008 presidential election, the Jefferson Market & Cakery made cookies for the 2012 presidential candidates – Obama and Romney – and held an “election” based on how many cookies were purchases. Apparently Obama won in a landslide, but all the cookies have sold out. We’re told that more might be available on Nov. 6, when the shop – across from the Ward 5, Precinct 2 polls at Bach Elementary – will also open early at 7 a.m. and offer Election Day breakfast specials: the McJefferson and Election Egg Sandwich.
