Skies over Ann Arbor

Stopped. Watched. icon

A plane circling over the city with a banner that appears to have an Obama-related message – can’t make out what it says. Would help if I could read backwards from long distances.

I’m sure there will be quite the showing of… colorful messages dangling behind airplanes tomorrow. When I graduated in 2007 and the conventional wisdom still knew it would be a Clinton-Giuliani election, there were planes alerting the public to Hillary Clinton’s passion for “killing babies”.

But I’m sure they did it for the graduates.

The one that just flew over me said “Michigan makes great cars, trim the imports Obama.”

The one I saw started: “Obama, tell the EPA …” and ended with “threat” – so now the game is fill-in-the-blank.

Got it! “Obama tell EPA CO2 is the ‘currency of life’ not a threat!” – with “currency of life” in red.

Not sure why I feel a proud sense of accomplishment. Maybe because I’ve been trying to read the dang thing for two hours.

If they don’t let the banner planes fly during football games anymore, you can be sure they won’t be in the air tomorrow while the President is in town.
