Halloween 2012: Main Street Chills & Thrills
Editor’s note: Since 2008, Myra Klarman, a professional photographer based in Ann Arbor, has been sharing with Chronicle readers her images from the annual Main Street Halloween Treat Parade. [Take a look at her photos from 2011, 2010, 2009, and 2008 as well.] This year was a bit chilly, but trick-or-treaters – and Myra – were undaunted. We hope you enjoy the festivities – Happy Halloween!
Pretty pink skirt, and jacket, and bow, Miss Minnie Mouse is ready to go!
Native to Antarctica, penguins feed on krill, fish, squid, and candy.
It is written that the dog and the cow and the other beasts of the field, be they made of flesh and bone, or even balloons, will one day a year wander the earth in search of candy.
This tiny Tiger is bundled up tight. No need to worry about getting frostbite.
Don’t mess with Batman, today or tonight. He’s defending his candy, with all of his might.
Hoo, oh hoo, oh hoo is that knocking? An owl that flew in, with blue strip-ed stockings!
Two timid clowns are braver than one, especially when looking for Halloween fun.
No one ever set a fire he couldn’t lick.
A bird in the tree is worth two in the hand – especially if your hands are full of candy.
Trick-arrr-Treat.
When they won’t fit on your broom, in a stroller there is room!

Trick or treat, smell my fleece …
What sort of critter eats candy all day? The kind that’s immune to sugarbug spray.
Big Mickey Mouse waves his hand with four thumbs. Small Mickey munches on sweet candy crumbs.
A Care Bear in pink leaves no skin exposed, except for his cheeks and his eyes and his nose.
Hey, Tiny Dancer, you’re cute as they come. Give us a twirl like a sweet sugar plum!
Thing 1 and Thing 2 are ready for fun. The Cat in the Hat looks ready to run.
Who’s this pedestrian, equipped with umbrella? He seems like a helpful yet mischievous fella.
It’s not a costume – he’s actually working! This window washer is clearly not shirking.
Ain’t nothing fake about Strawberry Shortcake.
Main Street Ann Arbor, gives Halloween haven, to birds of all kinds, like this tiny raven.
“Do not arouse the wrath of the great and powerful … pumpkin. I said come back tomorrow.”
“Because dragons do not carry their own candy, that’s why.”
Here’s the Thing, or is it 2? Mittens red, hair is blue.
