I wish I’d have had a camera with me yesterday to send a “Stopped. Watched.” about the blasting sprinklers forming expansive ponds at 12noon on the new grassy areas at Pioneer. Watering until lakes form – wrong. Watering under the blazing sun – wrong. Planting turf that requires constant watering – wrong. Nice to see that our public schools are setting such a good example. Yeesh.
Suswhit, don’t tell us, tell the school. Maybe their timer is broken and the grounds guy doesn’t know it. Maybe some outside comment will help get them to pay a little more attention and use less water. If these grassy areas are new as you wrote, then they need constant watering until their roots grow into place, after that they won’t need as much.
