Lock up your chickens – while gazing out the kitchen window this morning about 7 a.m. with a cup of coffee in hand, I watched a coyote trot through my backyard and nimbly search for breakfast in the woodpile.

Yes, we had one trot across our lawn in open daylight (maybe 10 a.m.?), evidently in pursuit of a rabbit. (We live in the NW area as well.) I don’t know how the dynamic with backyard chickens would go. He is welcome to the rabbits.
I was told by a neighbor that they saw one in my yard, 1/2 mile south of the Wines and Forsythe campus. If there are coyotes on the loose in the area, the city or the county should hire professional hunters, and get rid of them. They are too dangerous with children around.
We have had coyote sightings for years. My neighbors are concerned for their beagles but usually coyotes avoid humans. I wouldn’t leave any toddlers unattended, though. Or let my small pet out at night.

We have had coyote in our area near N Maple and Newport for years
A coyote strolled past the windows of Forsythe classrooms on the east and south side of the school last week, demonstrating to teachers that our students have lots of intellectual curiosity (about certain things)! @2: Coyotes are less dangerous to humans than bees, perhaps instead of professional hunters, here is a thought (from Wikipedia): “Cougars sometimes kill coyotes. The coyote’s instinctive fear of cougars has led to the development of sound systems which repel coyotes from public places by replicating the sounds of a cougar”.
Was just sitting on the front porch – northeast neighborhood . A coyote came out from behind m house and rn down the street. Maybe it was after all the rabbits around here.
