I understand [link] but I still don’t like it. Supposed to happen on the LAST Friday of the month, no?

Mass suicidal actions, and endangering strangers is not cute.

So this was evidently Fourth Avenue?

Yes, at Fourth Ave. I suppose just because they were yelling critical mass it isn’t necessarily “official”. I’m a huge bike advocate, but would rather see people who are demonstrating being scrupulous about traffic laws and also wearing helmets. Otherwise it just inflames the issues. But it takes all kinds to make up the world of bike enthusiasts. We all do politics and make statements in our own way. Sigh.

I wear a helmet and look both ways before proceeding thru a stop sign / red light.

If this was in response to the car v bicycle crash at “Fourth and Liberty” the “demonstration” took place at the WRONG intersection. The incident was at FOURTH STREET and LIBERTY, not Fourth AVE. Big environmental difference (downhill eastbound) especiatlly when a bicycle doesn’t have brakes and the motor vehicle has lead position, and signals the turn in advance. Even a rear motor vehicle has to be able to adequately brake when the vehicle in front makes a turn.
