Liberty & Mulholland

East bound car turning left onto Mulholland, the white SUV behind veers right, into the bike lane and up onto the curb to pass, and is off to downtown. Because waiting for the 8:30 pm traffic to clear on Liberty takes too long? Fellow onlookers speculate on what is making people crazy on a Tuesday night.

Third & Liberty

One car flies through the stop sign heading west on Liberty, other stopped drivers honk, the next one heading east 15 seconds later brakes ever so lightly and runs it as well.

Ingalls Mall and Washington

Hundreds of people salsa dancing in the street. Many newly taught, many clearly practiced. Lively music and just enough sun before it started to set. Sprinkled through the crowd, awesome face paint on kids and adults.

S. Seventh & W. Stadium

Across from Pioneer, a crew is repaving the stretch of S. Seventh that was more cratered than the surface of the Moon.

11:20 a.m. Guy walking down the street wearing a medical mask over his mouth and nose. Has swine flu panic arrived in Ann Arbor?

Truck w/ kayak on top fell into Huron, floated partway down river, sank. Police may/may not have found it. West of Foster Road.

Liberty near State

8:00 p.m. A young couple has come up with a new approach: instead of outright panhandling, they are selling roses for $2.

Sunset Road

Snowdrops pushing up their heads in a sunny bare spot Tuesday afternoon.  Maybe they’ll open if it is still warm tomorrow.
