Ann Arbor Fourth of July Parade
Candy-throwing politicians, a bike choir, baton twirlers, horseback riders, more politicians, clowns, a fife & drum corps and others marched the route as entries in this year’s Ann Arbor Fourth of July parade, which drew thousands of spectators to line the streets of downtown Saturday morning. The Chronicle enjoyed the spectacle and snapped a few photographs.

Red helium-filled balloons, handed out by KeyBank, dotted the streets (and floated overhead) of downtown Ann Arbor. This shot is looking north on Main, near William.

Local attorney Kurt Berggren chats up the paraders from Michigan Peaceworks, whose entry included Lady Liberty.

any pics of the big cow?!
I didn’t see any pictures of any cows of any size in the Chronicle set. Readers who’ve taken photos they’ve posted online are certainly welcome to link to them in a comment (just paste the URL, we’ll make it a link).
So wait up, there was a big cow??
Washtenaw Dairy had a big cow float.
And free popsicles, to boot!
Here’s a picture of the cow from Chronicle reader, Sabra Briere.
I want to thank the Ann Arbor Jaycees (www.a2jaycees.org) for putting on the parade every year. It takes months of preperation and a lot of hard work to put on a Parade like this. Also, don’t forget their Summer Carnival out at Pioneed this weekend!
