That was in the Observer a while ago, I think. Stopped. Watched. usually has the scoop!

I did a quick Google and only found an AnnArbor.com article (which didn’t list the new location, only that a GTπCo. was going in *somewhere* downtown), so I figured I’d Tweet it. Damn that Observer always scooping me!

I wonder what they will do with all those chairs with @’s cut into them.

Those look like nice, sturdy chairs, too.

Just have to find the right buyer. When Thano’s Company opened (remember that place?) Thano somehow managed to acquire the flatware of the old Town Club (remember that place? I don’t), because it had “TC” on it. Or maybe he decided to name the restaurant that because he had all this Town Club-monogrammed stuff, I’m not sure.

For some reason, every time I see an @ here, an @ there, an @ over there, @’s everywhere these day’s thanks to Twitter—it keeps making me think of the movie “Mars Attacks” and the Martian language. Have we been invaded and nobody told me?

The Town Club was a membership club that flourished in the 50′s and 60′s but eventually closed. Ann Arbor did not have liquor by the glass until the citizens voted it in, in 1960, but private clubs could serve it. All you could get was in bars and restaurants was wine and beer. (From a REAL old townie! )
